One Pin Challenge at the East Coast Women’s Show
What a weekend! We took part in the East Coast Women’s Show at the Halifax Exhibition Centre where we did the One Pin Challenge to raise money for Bryony House! We treated 83 people in 16 hours and relieved pain 79 times – a success rate of 95% – and raised $190.

All in all, we had a blast! Look for the next One Pin Challenge, which will take place at the Nova Scotia Spring Ideal Home Show March 27-29!

Happy Tiger month!
Today is the first day of Spring in the Chinese Calendar. Yes, spring! Although it may not FEEL like Spring, this is the time of year when the days start to become noticeably longer. Allergy season is just around the corner, so make sure to book some acupuncture treatments now to avoid suffering!

The Tiger represents revolutionary ideas and doing away with old ways. Tiger month brings with it renewed creativity, vitality, enthusiasm and hope. It’s a good time to daydream about what you’d like to do this year and to make plans. Wait until next month to put them into action though!

This is also a good time to gently increase your physical activity, such as starting a stretching routine, adding an extra 15 minutes to your workout, and going for relaxing walks.

This time of year can lend itself to impatience and irritable moods, so take extra care to be patient and kind. Remember, it will start to feel like spring very soon!

Spring foods: eat one daily portion of sprouts and one daily portion of yogurt.

On January 26th, we had our first One Pin Challenge at the Made Well Market. Despite the great group of vendors in a great location at Sparkles n’Sawdust on Argyle st., the weather was so bad that we almost didn’t make it to the venue! A few people came and braved the heavy rain and cold and took the One Pin Challenge. It was a success: we treated 10 patients, and 8 experienced instant pain relief. Thanks to generous contributions, we were able to raise $50 for the IWK children’s health foundation. See you at the East Coast Women’s Show for the next Challenge!
