Chinese Medical Diagnosis

Traditional Chinese medicine is capable of diagnosing the imbalances that cause symptoms & diseases.

Balanced Health

Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine are based on an understanding of health as a state of integrated balance, where all of your systems are working together as they should.

Healing Patterns

Seemingly unrelated details such as your symptoms, your posture, your sleep schedule and food cravings can reveal a pattern from which a diagnosis and treatment plan are developed.

Virtual Diagnostic Methods

Virtual Chinese medicine uses many of the same diagnostic tools as a face-to-face acupuncture session.

Your acupuncturist will work directly with you to assess your condition by using a variety of techniques:

Asking Questions

Prior to your appointment, an initial medical questionnaire will be sent to you via email.

During the appointment itself, your acupuncturist will ask questions about your health and lifestyle in order to clearly understand your symptoms and discover the true nature of your condition.

Visual Inspection

The secure video link allows your acupuncturist to visually inspect important aspects of your condition, such as your main complaint, posture, body type, complexion, and tongue, all of which can help point towards a useful diagnosis.

Listening

Your stories and the way you tell them are important. Our acupuncturists pay attention to the pitch, volume, pace and tone of your voice, as well as the thought patterns you express when you speak, in order to gain insight into your condition and inform your diagnosis.
