PATIENT PRESENTATION: Dave, Male, 48 years old
Dave first met us at a tradeshow last spring. He had so much pain that he was limping while he was walking. His right knee was burning and swollen. He explained to us that he was waiting for a knee replacement but could not find anything to relieve the pain until the surgery. He accepted my offer of acupuncture to see if it would help, so I gave him a test treatment on the spot.
CURRENT SYMPTOMS:
Right knee, under the the patella. Pain level, 8/10.
INITIAL RESULTS:
After the insertion of 3 needles, Dave stood up with ease and no mobility restriction. His pain level was down at 4/10. After 3 more needles, the pain was all gone.
TREATMENT COURSE:
Two treatments a week for 3 weeks.
FOLLOW UP RESULTS:
After the last treatment, he was pain free and leaving for a 2 week vacation. He now only needs to come back once a month to keep the pain level down until he has his surgery. He is planning to use acupuncture for post surgery treatment to speed up his recovery.
